I have been off work since Sept 7, 2018 and I have put my time off to good use. I have made three quilts, one for each of my daughters (they're about 66"X76" ). Today I switched out the valance on my living room window. The darker one is the old one, replaced by the lighter one. The rainbow quilt is twin bed size and still has to go to the shop to be quilted, it is for my granddaughter that just turned two and is learning her colors.
Oooooh, i like that Asymmetric one!
It is my favorite too!
@HippieChick58 nice work
@MrLink Thank you. It is one of my therapies.
@HippieChick58 in that case i hope you never find a cure!
@MrLink LOL, Actually, I don't see a cure, ever. My condition is anxiety, it waxes and wanes. I think it is pretty common in the general population. When I'm sewing I can focus intently and it reduces the hold anxiety has. And yeah, the therapy results are pretty amazing. After the rainbow quilt I thought I'd take a break. Nah, I'm planning the next two quilts already.
@HippieChick58 the universe truly does work in mysterious ways, doesn't it. Keep up the great work.
Dark in winter can be depressing. Light is much more inducive to creating lighter thoughts.
It has just dawned on me that you have made your daughters single size quilts but your granddaughter who is only 2, a double - who is she sleeping with and what is it saying about your desire for your daughters to remain in single beds?
The quilts for the daughters are not bed sized quilts. They are snuggle on the sofa while watching TV size quilts. At least one of them has a very cold basement which is where the TV is. The granddaughter's quilt is twin size, which in the US means it is a one person bed. The mattress is about 38" X 70". I have a quilt on my lap right now that is of similar size to the daughter's quilts.
@HippieChick58 thanks for the explanation. As you can see it had me puzzled. I used to use an electric throw rug but now having worked out how to economically keep the air temperature at a warm level do so.
@FrayedBear I keep my house on the chilly side as I don't want to give any more money to the utility company than I have to. I even moved most of my stuff out of the basement because it was just too cold down there. I figure I can add a sweater or blanket that I already paid for and warm up.
@FrayedBear I'm not sure what you're telling me here.
@HippieChick58 Intuition told me to share the link with you. Frequently I don't question my intuition.
This conversation has also just reminded me of the lovely saying " the person who laughs last laughs longest". I do not know if that will be you or I but IMO longer lasting laughter when measured in seconds is not significant in the great scheme of the universe.
