I started my first crocheting since before my surgery. I was only able to do a little bit before my hand swelled and I had to take some acetaminophen. I did get the pieces done for a small Devil amigurumi -they're in a labelled baggie waiting to be sewn together. I finished one cat toy in two colours - a ball with a spiral tail. It has its own baggie, waiting for more toys.
Sadly, because of my surgery, I won't be able to complete enough toys for the goodie bags for the cat rescue volunteer BBQ this year or even for the Autumn and pre-Christmas fundraisers

I love to crochet for charity...I have loads of yarn I need to use up before I move...let me know...pm me...hope you heal quickly, but it usually takes time...I am also looking at knee surgery this fall...at least I will be able to knit and crochet.

I will have surgery on August 27. I hope I'm able to do some quilting during recovery. I don't know, yet, what to expect after I leave the hospital. Take your time, AND do what you can. Any activity is better than none.

Just do what you can. Don't know when you had surgery but healing takes time. I am finding this out myself - 3 months and 2 weeks since I had total hip replacement (right hip). I am wondering will my flexability return or will there be limits now. I did too much 2 days ago and had swelling.
Just revel in what you can do. Hugs

Hang in there. People definitely understand "Surgery" as a reason you don't get as much done. Or at least reasonable people do.
Would love to see pics of your work if you are up to it. Ok particularly the cat toys... cause I could do that if I saw it?

I'm pretty good with crochet - if I see what it looks like done - I may be able to do it.
I don't think I've ever given the furkids a yarn toy? I wonder what they'd think of it? I have some cotton yard that could be fabulous.
