I mess around with handbuilt pottery as a hobby ... and because I live in a tiny studio apartment my small electric kiln lives in a bathroom closet, pulled out only when I fire it; then I close the door and have the extractor fan on to take any unhealthy fumes outside. The photos are of a 5" round trinket plate I made by creating a mould of the 3 frogs (from plastic toy frogs) then forming it into the mould and adding leaves etc. The first photo is the little plate in greenware (raw, unfired earthenware clay) followed by the glazed and fired end product, with extra pics to show my kiln setup and the glowing clay seen through the 2x3" peep window of the kiln. Kiln interior is only 8x8"x5H and is fired through an ordinary wall outlet (120).
I am so thankful that I could make this setup work, because clay work and sculpting brings me many hours of enjoyment

Would your little kiln work for glass fusing and slumping? I have a deck with an outlet I could use. I'll have to check to see how much a little one would cost.
I use to do be a potter, I sometimes miss it but mostly not.

I love it when people improvise and make do for their craft...lovely...
Clay is something that I have no skill for, so it is nice to see the works of others...
