Hello, I am a registered Republican. With that, however, my philosophy is more in line with Theodore Roosevelt on environmental issues and social welfare issues, while my foreign policy philosophy would be classified as interventionist. Despite my passion for certain issues, I am completely open to new ideas and compramise.

I think land conservation in the US has gotten out of hand - example, Obama designated more national monuments out of any president. The National Parks service is backlogged in maintenance fees, to the point of recently discussing raising the fee for a week pass to $75 (that's almost the cost of going to Disneyland for a day - most people go to national parks only for a day). I remember when it used to be $8. They ended up raising the fee for popular parks from $25 to $35. On top of that hunting has become less significant and which means less funding for conservation - which is how Roosevelt initially planned to cover conservation.
