Hikers' Connection (Natural Highs)

The only group (at this time) for hikers/trekkers to meet, connect, share stories, tips, pictures, etc. Let's use this as a way to talk about the great experience of hiking, whether meeting here online or on the trail.

Wind gusts up to 15 mph, ambient temperatures 21-35C. Beautiful hike down in the Catskills; Balsam and Eagle mountain. For once I'm grateful for a non-open summit ?

Today's local hike. This is in the Woolsey fire burn area, so it got roasted. The good news is we had rain, and now green is coming up everywhere!

I just scheduled a trip to a friend's house in April. When I get there we will be hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, then back up.

For St. Patrick's Day I hiked to a local waterfall with my group of dog parents/friends. It was a perfect 80° day! As we walked along the dogs in the group (it's a revolving bunch) all seemed to accept each other as part of a temporary "pack". I ...

Spring in the adirondacks means mud season. We generally try to stay off the trails unless we're doing maintenance or just sticking to lower elevations. Also, non bridge water crossings can be perilous. Plenty of beauty to go around though.
