But the United States of America is not a democracy it is a republic that can be overruled by a president whose powers are limited by the constitution of said republic so when someone says a threat to our democracy I asked who's aristocratic democracy are they referring to?

You are right about it being a republic, the problem is congress has been ceding power to the executive branch for years: [pressherald.com]
@DaveSchumacher And the judicial has been rubber stamping the process. Instead of checks and balances, it has become collusion and bribery.
