I am looking for a good VPN + email provider. I tried Nord but found that in linux I could not access Gmail or some other google sites. I was able to get Nord going then found that I had to configure Nord for every search engine and phone separatelyI I queried Nord and they told me I had to reconfigure GRUB to their specifications.. NO THANKS
As an email provider I use Protonmail. They have a bundle that covers all web applications one could ever want.
I sent out a query about their service last Tuesday, so far no reply.
Can anyone tell me if they have had any issues with Proton unlimited? Especially installing on Linux? Do I need to compile it first and can I have it on more than one device? I have 1 linux box 1 windows box, 1 apple tablet and one android tablet. I am mostly concerned with the paid email subscription and their VPN. Vpn being he most important, as I already use protonmail.

I use Proton from Switzerland. There is a free version but for what I do I have to have a paid version. My system is also Windows 10.

I am renewing my 2yr subscription for protonvpn (I run Linux) today ! 🙂
I also use protonmail and protoncalendar.

Any problems installing proton VPN? does it work out of the box? I have been using proton mail for 3 years with no worries

@Kurtn Here is what worked for me :
(from [ubuntuforums.org] )

sudo add-apt-repository 'deb [repo.protonvpn.com] unstable main'
sudo apt update
sudo apt install protonvpn

In the first 1.5 years, the gui version didn't work (I used protonvpn-cli).
Now the gui version is very nice.

Personally I use proton mail but run it through the linux compatible Opera Browser that has it's own built in free VPN which satisfies all my needs, but can be upgraded for a nominal fee for extra features and security.

Posted by FrayedBearAnyone using Android 12? Are you having problems with the Gmail app no longer working along with the PlayStore?

Posted by ScubaWagsWow, Windows 11 will have tiling windows. No one has ever done that before...

Posted by OldMetalHeadThis is quite interesting. I knew Ubuntu would be high, but I honestly didn't expect it to be that high.
