Reading. A lot. Not writing just now. Currently reading 'The Salt Path' by Raynor Win. I walked the Camino de Santiago back in 2006 and ever since then I've been addicted to books about travel, people setting themselves physical, emotional and mental challenges and having adventures. 'Tracks' by Robyn Davidson, 'Wild' by Cheryl Strayed, 'As I Walked Out One Midsummer Morning' by Laurie Lee, 'I'll Push You' by Justin Skeesuck and Patrick Gray, 'Spanish Steps' by Tim Moore and 'Blood River' by Tim Butcher are among some of my favourites. I have written some musings on my Camino experiences; I went back in 2007 to walk the Camino Finisterre, and my travels in South Africa. I've only shown them to family and a handful of close friends. I'm not brave enough, yet, to show them to anyone else. I'm a prolific journal writer. I love the process of writing and getting all my thoughts, feelings and experiences down on paper.

Edit them to remove anything deeply private, then show them to people you trust. Even bits of them to this group, perhaps?

I'll meet you halfway - anything deeply private? Yes, edit it out. But if the personal, the private, tells the story you want to tell then that's what you need to do.

@Palindromeman But it may need an alias, an "it happened to a friend I know well" type of recounting.

@Petter True, true. Depends on what it is, I guess.

Journals are a great way to start writing.
