Hi everyone. In the late '90s I wrote a short story which my professor suggested I publish. It's time to dive in to that and I'm looking for advice on how to begin this process. Anything you have to offer will be appreciated.

Publishing is either your money going to a printer OR you begging publishers a share of their profits they ASSUME are jumping out of your manuscript.....have you digitalized your work ? Recorded your voice for a short talking book ?
@Azraeloki -- Short stories are generally magazine (electronic and paper) fare. Google first: Paying markets for short stories.
If you know the genre, include that in the search. If it's a slice of life piece, ad the word literary. I'd have a beta reader at least look at it before submitting it anywhere, though.
