When U.S. politicians and corporate media talk about the “China threat,” they aren’t thinking about you.
They’re protecting themselves.
The one percent doesn’t lose sleep over Chinese missiles. They lose sleep over Chinese policy.
I've been following this guy on facehack for a while now. He basically compares the workings of China and the US. It's quite educational for anyone who doesn't have much knowledge on China. Below I'll add a story of an American African Woman who moved to China to become a teacher. I think it's quite interesting. A story ironically from CNBC.

I used to teach exercise classes at a business here in town that sold products from China. I remember being told that the company in China used slavery type of employment for making the hair products that they sold. The employees in China lived in cramped quarters and had to work from sun up to sun down. So I don't know what to believe. Dictatorships of any country only works for the elite population.

While this is the case in some instances, it has a lot to do with US corporations over there also. China isn't perfect. A lot of Chinese move from rural areas to the city to work and end up in cramped flats to live in. But conditions are a lot better than they once were. China has lifted 800,000 people out of extreme poverty over the past 40 years. And poverty has been significantly eradicated.

I didn't know China has been "helping" their own people out of homelessness but into slavery with housing them in cramped quarters with very many others that are in the same position.
@michelle666gar Right now China is starting to fail as an economy. Everyone thinks they are doing great because of the increase in export revenues but the reality is that you can only export so much below the cost of manufacturing it before you bankrupt the country...

@michelle666gar actually, reports are that somewhere around 90% of the people in China own their own homes today. I've seen the figures go from anywhere from 85% to over 90%. This was just a quick search, and from a western search engine. SO it speaks volumes for validity of the figures. The employer employee contribution rates are highly effective in helping the citizenship save money and manage their living styles. Picture the worker co-op that very few companies in the US have. On steroids in regards to China. It's nationwide in China! I'm sorry to say, like Russia, you seem to have been persuaded into thinking the worse for these countries. I understand it though. I however have spent years in my political commentary to learn from various unbiased medias as to how these countries operate and treat their citizenships. With many accounts from Americans who have been and lived in these countries. Including geopolitical scholars from around the globe, X American military and intelligence agents. Journalist who live in these countries. Over time I've become amazed to how thoughtless I use to be due to western managed perceptions I had belief in. Over the past few decades these countries have advanced well beyond what we have in the US on all levels. Most people in the US have an image of these countries that is obsolete and far gone in history.
@Lizard_of_Ahaz it's obviously clear to me that Joe is a western narrative type of guy. With just a glance at his youtube page, it's clear what his agenda is. And it isn't to provide facts and educational information. Just look at 2 of the headlines on that screen. Russian oil dries up. China implodes. That is so absurd that ludicrous can't be applied here. Only those out of touch with the reality of what's happening outside of the US would be foolish enough to fall for this guys bullshit. I take it you never actually do any research of the information you're absorbing to recognize how you're being fooled by mis/disinformation. If you are, you're obviously using all the wrong resources in that regard also.
@William_Mary That's why in those living conditions the windows are literally glued shut and there's "balconies" built outside of those windows because of the high suicide rates of these slave workers.
@michelle666gar the suicide rate for China is 6.67 per 100K. The suicide rate for the US is 15.3 per 100K. These are 2023 figures. The population of the US is approximately 350 million people. The population of China is approximately 1.4 billion people. I think it's fair to say that the 1.4 billion people in China are a hell of a lot happier that the 350 million in the US.
Well the grumpy chinese guy was a subscription so I'll pass. I know several people that have gone to China and came away with similar praises. People just want to live their lives, not alot of worries, 'normal' kids, happy wife or husband, etc. and so it is as long as the elite running the show are benevolent, can show they care about the people, give 'em just enough of a sense of freedom and choice and all is good.
One of the people I knew was basically looking for an educated Chinese woman who would marry him and come to America. The guy is a real jerk and treats women badly - a real misogynist, not great in bed (according to my friend Becky), expects to be kowtowed to. He had gone over to learn some martial art form and decided a Chinese woman would suit him. He met one.
He finally got her over here and it was battle royal from the get go, he had lied about his wealth and living details. Yes he did own his own business, a bike repair shop. He lived in the basement and sub-basement of the building where the repair shop is. She is a very intelligent woman and was able to eventually divorce him.
I know this because my ex so was the guys friend, sometimes worked in the shop and helped to get the living quarters to a somewhat woman friendly livable condition. Meanwhile my relationship with
my ex was going downhill fast - money issues, his not mind, he finally left.
He decided he would go to China and teach English. Not only could he teach proper English but as a Black man he could teach Black English. He could speak proper English so nicely my mom (a real racist bigot of a woman) never suspected he was Black. She would call to talk to me but if I was out or at work she would talk to him.
Yes, as expected when I finally told her 'about' Norm she was livid. I digress, for all I know he's still there. Or he tried to con the wrong people and is in a Chinese prison. Don't know and don't care.
If I was not 72 it would be an adventure I would have loved to do myself!!
As to the woman in the story. She should revel in her unique beauty, Blacks don't wrinkle like white folk and we will never know what is truly in the heart of Chinese or Japanese people because to be polite and follow tradition is everything in their culture.
