Dictators and would-be dictators have no logic. WE have an attorney general who thinks that the DOJ is to be a political ally of the president. We have senators who want to investigate law enforcement for doing their jobs (investigating contacts with russians). The republican war on the American people, our constitution, the rights of ordinary citizens continues.

HumanistJohn comments on May 16, 2020:
republicans have for years ignored, dismissed, and ridiculed scientists and anyone with expertise. They don't want facts and truth getting in the way of their agenda(s). They also criticized government; again, they didn't want anything getting in the way of corporations' "right" to dumo toxic shit in our air and waters. and they didn't want anyone to protect the safety of workers (just ask the koch family who started the tea party). Remember when rr said that "government is the problem"?

Now that pos Lindsey Graham will investigate those persons who investigated tRump and company's russian connections. Trying to put forth the 'message' that they were out to get tRump. What an ass-kisser Graham is... On another point, political pundits keep talking about tRump's numbers slipping. What they need to be talking about is WHY that ugly orange blob has any supporters at all. Just saying that his supporters are stupid isn't enough of an answer. I hate to say this, but I'm worried. I remember that the pundits said that Hillary would win (some even said 48 states). Don't count your chickens before they're hatched.

HumanistJohn comments on May 12, 2020:
The most important thing for those people is making money. How many times have I been told something like "after all, this is a business." What they mean by that is that business (i.e., making money) is more important than fairness, justice, democracy, the environment, and so on. People who utter phrases like that are seldom aware of the implications of that attitude. Also, according to them, the bigger the business, the better..Small businesses don't count. There are a lot of corollaries here (such as, if you're poor, it's your fault. Or if your business doesn't grow and become large, it's your fault). By the way, they also read Adam Smith all wrong. But that's a story for another day.

Actually Pence (and Barr) are working very hard to make this country a theocracy where the DOJ prosecutes and harasses their political enemies. What they want is a king. How often have we heard the nauseating bullshit that says trump is god's anointed and comparing him to king davis? OK, I'm rambling.
