@JackPedigo So lets look at the facts 1. There is less immigration in the United States now and less immigration during the Obama years then there has ever been in US history. It has never been more sustainable than it is now or over the last 30 years. The percentage of the US population that is foreign born is about 13%. It's 23% in Switzerland and 18% in Ireland when I live. And there are not problems with immigration in Ireland or Switzerland. Certainly not like the ones that Trump has tried to convince his base that there is. 2. Most native americans had their land stolen and their culture crushed by the US government after the British had left you guys to govern yourselves. With the worst atrocities committed in the late 1800's. 3. If you want to know where the blame lies for the erosion of living standard of both low income and middle income Americas you can put that squarely at the feet of the Republican Party who have since Regan given tax cuts to the rich and cut social programmes for working americans. Scapegoating immigrants will not solve any problems because immigrants are NOT the problem. The problem can be solved by redistributing wealth from the 1% to struggling american families. Increasing the Minimum wage and providing FREE health care for low income workers. The republicans want you to BLAME the immigrant so they can continued to pick the pockets of ordinary Americans. And the White working class has bought this lie and now in large part supports TRUMP.

All parties now agree we need to cut carbon emissions by 7% a year. and when it comes to income inequality in the US. There have been tax cuts for the rich since Regan and then the Bush Tax cuts and now the Trump tax cuts. And in the past the Democrats have never been able to reverse these giveaways to the rich. So the question is will Biden want to take the status quo on and reverse these tax cuts for the 1%. I have my doubts. I hope I'm wrong

They insisted it was just the way things fell. But it was not. So they can always find a way, and people know that so it can be a very brave thing to do.

@AnneWimsey I disagree. Easy to say just go form a union. Then you get fired for being the instigator. Something that most people don't know is that union membership in the US is higher than in most European countries. And in Europe there is no doubt that workers have more rights than they have in the US. There are benchmarks and standards that you just can't go below without breaking the law in Europe. These standards were introduced by the European Union as part of the single market. They prevent one country having an unfair advantage when it comes to FREE trade between them and another country in the EU. So no country can gain a competitive advantage over another country by exploiting it's workforce to make them more competitive.

AND It's such a simple FIX. As for percentages of registered Voters that Vote. You have voter suppression. We don't, so our percentages are more reflective of how many people vote. You put obstructions in the way of people being able to register to vote. Having a Felony is one way you restrict the right to vote. So you commit the crime and serve your time, but that's not enough. Then you can't vote. Great way to stop poor people from voting. Poor people from deprived areas are more likely to have a felony. Excluding groups from society is a guaranteed way to ensure that it's more difficult to get people to respect that society, and you wonder why they then commit more crime.

@Heidi68 That's very informative what you said. Where I live in Ireland polling stations are manned by both volunteers and paid government workers that are seconded from other government departments to make sure we have enough people to man all polling stations. The town I live in has about 15, 000 registered voters. we have 3 polling stations. My polling station caters for about 5000 voters. It's in a local school. All of the 25 classrooms are set up for voters from different roads in my town. So you go in and look at the signage which makes very clear which classroom you go to for your address. So each classroom is catering for about 200 voters and has 3 people working in each room. so that's 1 person working at the polling station for every 66 voters. The polling station is open for 15 hours. So that's one polling station worker for an average of 4.4 voters per hour. That's why I have NEVER had to stand in line to vote. Not in 36 years. If you had to stand in line to vote in Ireland we would see that as a failure in our Democracy.

What about someone who is NOT Semi-retired, has to work long hours and is in a minority area where a lot of poor people live and all the stats show they have to stand in line the longest. But they can't because they have not got the time. Is that fair to them. Does this not undermine their right to vote. 40% off US citizens vote in Presidential elections. Countries where you do not have to stand in line usually have turnouts of 60 to 75% of the voters. Don't you want that for your democracy?

@Flowerwall Because the punishment for the crimes he committed is not the DEATH PENALTY. And thats the job of a court and a Judge and a Jury. NOT the police officer in the street. We are not supposed to live in a police state where they are Judge, Jury and executioner. THATS WHY NOT ONE PERSON. How can you look at that Video of what was done to him and have no empathy for him. And here's your information from the innocence project. https://www.innocenceproject.org/blackbehindbars-sparking-a-conversation-on-the-black-wrongful-conviction-experience-in-the-u-s/ To be a black person in America is to be seven times more likely to be wrongfully convicted of murder and three times more likely to be wrongly convicted of sexual assault as compared to white people. THAT'S JUST A SIMPLE FACT. To be a black exoneree in America means: You are 222 of the 362 people proved innocent by DNA You are 84 of the 164 survivors of death row (Death Penalty Information Center) You spent an average of 10.7 years behind bars for a crime you didn’t commit vs. 7.4 for whites exonerees (National Registry of Exonerations) Now that you have the facts, join #blackbehindbars on Twitter to see the impact wrongful convictions have on exonerees, families, and communities. @NoPlanetB He was making convenient comparisons. (when you compare to commission of murders and other serious crimes. APPLES and ORANGES) So the Police should have a target to commit a proportionate amount of crimes as the crimes in the communities they police. Maybe I'm missing something, but when the justification of Crimes by the police is to compare them to the Criminals, you have a shit load of problems to solve in the police department concerned. They are not the ones that should be committing crimes.

You are being very dishonest with your figures. Manipulating them to suit your own argument. So you pick One statistic on Murder rates in different communities and then make the police look good by saying they have better figures that the crime figures from the communities they police. So do you think the police are entitled to murder black people because they live in high crime communities and that's ok. The Police are not supposed to use Crime figures within disadvantaged communities to justify murder by the police in these communities. And if you want to look at some frightening STATS. Try looking at the innocence project figures. Mis carriages of Justice for Black people are SO MUCH HIGHER than for White people. 12% of the population in the US is BLACK. So can you tell me why we have never seen a white person being choked to death by a police officer because they were carrying a 20 dollar fake bill. Is that the Value a police officer should put on the life of a human being. 20 dollars?
