This article exemplifies what I feel I have seen the Bernie campaign doing this year.
Barnie2years comments on Mar 21, 2020:
My feelings exactly! I worked for Bernie last time and was crushed when he lost the nomination. But I held my nose and voted for Hillary. Sadly, no matter which of these two win, I will vote for them because it is the only chance we have of maintaining our democracy. But I would have much preferred have new blood come in as President, with knowledge of the current world order, modern technology, little baggage and a mind that actually works full time. But like the Republicans who held their nose and voted for the ass less likely to win, the Democrats have to get out the vote and hopefully both of them will pick good Vice Presidents so at least when they go off their rocker we will have gotten a good second string President.
I have no pandemic footprint. Do you?
Barnie2years comments on Mar 20, 2020:
This is just life as normal pretty much for me, I pretty much stay home by myself 90% of the time anyway. Thanks to the Internet, I never feel lonely. In fact I have more interaction, even if it is virtual, with more people than I ever did. I actually feel less alone because I have found communities of people that think at least close to my thoughts. Something I rarely felt before, so thanks all of you on here among others on Facebook. The only down side so far is with my Mom. She is in an independent living facility (beautiful apartment) but has not dealt well with the death of my father five years ago. She is a people person and the residence where she lives had a very active social schedule. Movies, live entertainment, ice cream socials, three meals a day etc. Due to the virus they have eliminated all of these, including only serving one meal a day which they require the residents to take out. They have also eliminated outside visitation. I usually went over two or three times a week, and we would eat out every Sunday. Since all restaurants are closed in PA, that is not going to happen for a while either. I am not sure how she is going to get through this isolation period, which could last for weeks if not months. But there is not much that can be done, given the circumstances.

[boredpanda.com] Animals in streets during coronavirus quarantine. Will it happen in the States?
Barnie2years comments on Mar 19, 2020:
Could be a matter of time before we start seeing this in the US, though I think the deer and the monkeys are an issue due to tourists reductions. That was their main source of food and since they are not coming around, the animals must search elsewhere. I am sure there are some areas in the US where tourist feeding is a primary source of food (Oatman, AZ comes to mind, with the wild donkeys, but they already take over the town during the day). I could see bears become a problem with less people going to cabins and camping, where they scrounge for food.

If it was a choice between Fascism and Communism, I would have to go with both, since they both involve giving up individual freedom of thought. Socialism on it’s own can involve many forms of shared commitments without taking away your personal freedoms or annexing industry beyond making it responsible for the welfare of their workers. One group you didn’t mention, and perhaps because it can exist with or independent of the others is Theocracy, which I find as scary as Fascism on many levels.

FANATICISM! Be it religious, non religious, political, sports, Chevy v. Ford, Merlot v. Pinot Noir. They all have one thing in common: a total lack of interest in having their mind changed. And, if you take on the challenge, once they run out of valid facts and sensible argument, they will attack you personally. From insulting your profile picture, your cultural heritage, your bone structure to just plain name calling. One need only look at Donal Trump and his followers to see this taken to it’s Zenith. Both on here and Facebook I run into Fanatics on a variety of topics. On the original confrontation I will usually offer whatever facs I can gather to show they are mistaken. If for some reason the facts don’t bare out my position, I would apologies and move on. If they continue to spew their malarkey, or try to get into name calling, the conversation is over. If there are other participants in the dialog and they wish to waste their time trading insults, more power to them. But I move on and find other things of interest. I am firm in my belief that prayer is as effective as a coin flip, that natural process is far more interesting than invisible man created deities, and random is more believable than miracles.
