It depends entirely on how well the vaccines work against the new variants. I can't believe the media haven't reported on this. We need to get a better handle on whether people can get it twice (as was initially reported about the crew of the aircraft carrier). Right now the surge in cases appears to be cresting and maybe leveling out. It is still a high rate and the anti-vax sentiment suggests the current rate could remain near this level for as long as the 40% remain un-vaccinated. If the vaccine is effective against the new variants, a lot could open up for those that are protected. Surface transmission has supposedly been shown to be rare. Perhaps the wiping down of surfaces can be reduced if you send information to the right policy-makers.

I have a very hard time imagining that uranium can crystallize and collect in a stellar remnant such that enough of it could collect to produce a critical mass. Even if it could happen, could the scale be great enough and consistent enough to make the neutron flux needed to produce fusion? And what is supposedly being fused? By the time you get to a white dwarf, many of the nuclei would soak up the neutrons with no effect. I suspect the fission and fusion reactions are far too weak to produce a supernova, which is more commonly thought to occur when the nuclei don't just fuse, but collapse into a non-nuclear solid mass. Who knows? I think it needs more work, and it should be discernible from astronomical data.

Gullibility may provide a convenient pejorative, but dissect the factors: 1. Social, job, peer and family pressure; 2. The effectiveness of the religious narrative disparaging competing world views; 3. Insecurity brought on by decades of religious propaganda and sexual inhibition/denunciation; 4. Religions recruiting aggressive bullies to intimidate any who stray; 5. By example, ruining those that stray with excommunication and shunning; 6. Assorted methods of brainwashing rituals required at life event gatherings. 7. Activism wherein people are pressured to be loyal regarding social, political or behavioral issues, such as abortion and birth control services.
