September 12, 1993 is when my life changed. Single mom of two boys, ages 2 and 4. I got Guillain Barre Syndrome. Was in Sarasota Memorial Hospital for six months.
Being an introvert and disabled has made things a bit harder.
Recently, dated a friend. Friendship is more important to me. He also couldn't love me the way I wanted. So it was best to move on for the both of us.
Would like to date, but definitely an obstacle for me.
For now, I just want to make friends.
Rough. I wasn't aware there were permanent side effects
Also an introvert and disabled. Married, but my Facebook relationship status would be "It's Complicated" ... if I were being honest with the world. Even if I were single, I wouldn't be interested in dating at the moment. My health is in a tailspin, so that's got to be my primary focus.
Guillain Barre ... that's some serious @#$%. A friend of mine had it. She spent a long time in the hospital too. I hope you give yourself full credit for having hung in there and survived it. I'm sure being there for the kids was a motivator during the worst of it. hands you a combat medal
My mother got Guillain-Barre Syndrome while she was pregnant with me. My sympathies.
