Some of this may be due to a lack of paying attention to international (to Canadians) news. It's easier to assume the madness will remain south of your border. I think sentiment against Trump would increase if he were running Canada 
Your conservatives would for the most part be branded liberals by US conservatives, so I gotta believe they have more sense than these figures suggest. Still, the difference between the CPC and the other parties IS striking.

You statement "Your conservatives would for the most part be branded liberals by US conservatives" was true but not so much any more. The older Progressive Conservative party (which was center right) has largely been replaced by knuckle dragging CPC right wingers
