On the opposite side of the coin, I once had a neighbor cat that was smart enough to go hide behind a tree when people bothered him outside.
My ex had a cat, Alex, that was so dumb...
How dumb was he?
Well, let me tell you. When he would hide, he would stick his head under a table. The rest of his body was clearly visible to the room.
If you think that is dumb, he once sat facing a corner and meowed.
Why did he meow?
Because he was lost and couldn’t figure out how to get out of the corner.
