If the US did not supply weapons and diplomatic cover, there would be no genocide and thus, no protests.
It's pure censorship eg protest government policy and we will arrest you. Even high profile presidential candidates. This sends a clear message to dissenters to keep quiet. In Australia they are also cracking down.
