The evolution of Gods. In the beginning man asked a question that he could not answer that's inventing the first God. This God was a specific god. A God with only the domain of one particular thing so many gods were needed for the many things man did not know then as time went on and man grew smarter the old questions were answered and that God died. More time passed and God's went from Lords of the physical to Lords of the intangible no more was the corn God or the Rock God now there was fertility God and God of War meaningful subjects yet intangible making the question harder to answer but like before man grew smarter and the Gods who rule they're single domain now have been replaced with a monotheistic God just one God for all that is or has been or will be. Now in are time we see the cracks in the facade the one God is losing his power at every question we answer and I would say the precipice is coming the point of no return When enough has been learned and the god of everything is no longer valid for the strength of a single God is also its weakness a single God is to be seen as the end-all to be all but if you answer just one question under his preview the illusion is shattered at first only for those who have the logical and skeptical mind but as time goes on and more and more questions are answered even the most devout in their delusion must come to the conclusion there are no gods just questions that could not be answered at the time when the question was asked.

You've put much thought into this explanation. I think humanity's beliefs in god(s) has played an important role in our evolution and will remain as long as we don't question our beliefs.

Every time I hear “well, the Bible doesn’t mean THAT literally”, I see it as another step in the right direction.
