In case you'd like to help your fellow Floridians, I found a reliable place to send stuff.
You may have heard of the Cajun Navy. That is a group of regular folks dedicated to helping victims of disasters. They started with helping Louisiana and Texas - and have now extended to Florida, after the recent chaos in the Panhandle.

They have secured a huge warehouse, not too far from Tallahassee, that they will store donations of stuff to redistribute among local folks in need - and there are many !

They especially are asking for all sorts of nonperishable animal and people foods, any and all baby items, cleaning supplies, tarps, cases of paper towels, zip lock bags, first aid items, and cases of water.

You can go to Chewy.com, or Amazon, or Walmart etc - pick out items you wish to send, and have them shipped directly to the warehouse. Easy to help !

I just got off Chewy - I ordered a whole lot of dog and cat food - along with some bird stuff.

If you're up for it, the address is : United Cajun Navy
20349 Central Ave.West
Blountstown, Fl 32424

Thanks! I'm happy to do this and had reservations about sending money to Red Cross.

I am in Panama City. The Cajum Navy has been a huge help and are distributing food and helping do wellfare checks on people. I think the biggest thing in demand right now are TARPS, as most homes have had major damage to the roofs, if you are looking to help.

Also, Bay County School District is also in need of basic supplies for students and teachers. School will resume in about a month. Most schools suffered major damage and could use the basics. Paper, pencils etc.. I'll, see if I can find the link for the school district.
