I was debating my brother on evolution, he is a fundamentalist . I had an amazing realization during it though. For the first time I started understanding what exactly he was saying. He actually believes evolution means that species will just randomly pop into a new creature like popcorn bursting out. I was so amused I couldn't stop laughing. He actually ks evolution says a monkey will just randomly pop into being a human being. That's why he keeps saying how come its not still happening. I never dreamed I would have to go to such a childish level even after debating this for over 30 years.

It turns out that he has no idea how the mechanisms of evolution actually function. I've tried to explain as well as I can, but I think he prefers not to understand. It would throw more monkey wrenches into his world view than he's willing to deal with.
