My neighbor (nosey) asked me if I had a will in place for my kids... Lolol. I told her it was no problem as I had nothing! Ha. I live for today. Pay my bills and enjoy the simple things in life. Th he kids will have to make it on their own.

My mother and father are old and frail. I recently told my mom "I don't know if you and Dad have any money, but if you do, spend it all on yourselves now. Do not leave any money to your brats!! In the first place, you don't owe your brats a thing. In the second place, your brats will never face poverty ... so spend everything on yourselves right now."

Also, if children don't claim their inheritance the state usually gets to keep it by default. The state governments make a lot of money that way.

Actually, it depends upon the laws of your state. Most states have a default inheritance. Chances are that your estate, such as it is, will be divided up among your children, anyway, without a will.

When I said I had nothing, I really meant it. I rent a room, have no heirlooms, property, or more than a few hundred in the bank. My kids know it. No need for much beyond a DNR.
