So it has taken me over 6 months but today I went to a group I have wanted to join up with, There were not many people there (thankfully I got there late and they were finishing up so most had left) but they seemed nice and so next week I am going to try and get there on time to see how I will go. I am trying to make myself go out and do things more.

I went again, was greeted warmly and then some other people turned up. Moment of panic sat quietly until one of the ones I know asked me if I wanted to start training? Whew crisis averted went out and have some moves to learn. All good fun. Watched some of the others and by now had settled and when they started talking to me did not freak out and be all stupid and managed a conversation. Big breath, back home, bra off, watching Bean the movie comfort zone achieved.

It is a medieval fighting group, they have a variety of swords and make their own armor and play at fighting. So this accident prone gumby is going to try not to maim someone or injure myself. It sort of helped that the first person I saw was someone who was in a few of my classes at uni and even if he did not recognise me I remembered him so bit of a relax there. Another was wearing a geeky t-shirt so I was not too out of my depth on subject matters.

Awesome! A friend of mine is a board game designer and they have a monthly game night at their house. I've been invited to it for years but I can never bring myself to go. The thought of being around people I don't know AND trying to learn something that they're all experts at just sounds too horrifying. I do wish I could, though.

I go to a quiz once a week but with friends and we sit to the edge so I am not in the middle f everything. Another friend also finds lots of human interaction difficult. The last time I did this a friend helped me to go to fire twirling which I loved even if it took me a whole month to get what most people do in the first 10 minutes.
