Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I can certainly attest to the variability of how roses should be handled in winter, based both on the climate conditions where they are grown and the variety's own growth habits, so I like how the speaker described different treatment for a couple different roses and why.
Here in sub-tropical humid conditions, I don't touch roses for fall pruning unless it is simply to tidy up one that has grown out of control. It is not unusual for me to see a few straggler blooms even in January. Pruning happens between Feb 1 and 14th, regardless of what the plants are doing, but I don't cut back any strong new basal breaks.
