I agree. They should be counseled with open minds but we do not permit a minor to enter into a legal contract for a reason. Gender "reassignment" is a major decision which seems to violate our ideas about what a minor can do. If they want to as an adult then fine but not as a child.
"Kids" aren't getting sex changes... at least not in the U.S.
The minimum age for gender reassignment surgery is 18. And even then its not a simple process that happens overnight. Its a process that literally takes years before even the first surgery occurs.
