Born this way? Why does it still matter? Did it even matter in the first place?

Society and religion have always recognised the 'temptation' of same sex attraction. They recognise its existence, but as something that must be repressed and denied. Religion doesn't give a hoot about your innate sexuality, as long as your practising sexuality is hetero, or you abstain.

Me? I won't apologise for being LGBT. That means not needing to excuse it or to find anything to blame it on. "Born this way" is effectively saying "I've tried to not be like this, but I really can't help it. It isn't my fault. Please don't hate me."

I am innately bi with a strong preference for same sex over other sex, and I choose (yes, choose) to be a practising homosexual. Previously, I have been a practising heterosexual, and conformed to the aforementioned bullshit. I make no apologies whatsoever for my decision to stop conforming and follow my strongest preference.

Was infatuated with boys since ten and maybe earlier. But having already had to deal with rejections from potential friends, I wouldn't even acknowledge my own sexuality until I was fifteen. I was still in the closet until I was 18, but I felt great being able to know what I am. As far as I am concerned, I was born this way.
