Sadly, it turned out to be "Truscum Day of Vitriol" for me, on Facebook at least. After (and even during) a day of going out and being visible in Chester, I encountered two separate cases of lateral transphobia on Facebook from people wanting to declare those they considered 'lower forms' of gender variant than themselves 'not trans.'

One (who seems to think she has passing privilege, but who applies way too many filters to her photos to know for sure) declared "Most of you are already visibly trans and don't need a day to show off. It isn't a revelation." and "Most of the rest of you are not trans and need to stop wanking into your sister (sic) panties."

Ordinarily, I deplore transphobia, but I can't help but wish people like this a lifetime of misgendering and other abuse. If you aren't willing to respect other people's sincere gender identities, then you don't deserve to have your own sincere identity respected. These people are gatekeeping 'trans' in exactly the same way that TERFs gatekeep 'woman.' Yet they're the first to complain when the TERFs do it.
