When I was a kid I remember a story about how Rolls used to quality test their cars as they came off their mostly hand-made lines - they would put a 5 pence coin (or whatever their equivalent to a nickel was) edge on on the hood & then start & rev her. If the coin fell, the car didn't pass. Now, true or not, that impressed me!
