Most religions are violently against examining your faith on a deeper level. In the Christian religion it's the tree of knowledge that brought mankind down. I think the symbolism there is pretty intense. Most Christians, and other religious followers, exhibit a childlike adherence to their faith. They even call themselves God's children.
