That reminds me of an article I read a few years ago. There was an English teacher (I think) that got a ticket for running a stop sign. His defence was that "stop" didn't specify what to do. I'm sure that it got thrown out. If you read the manual to get a license, I'm sure there is a legal definition of what the sign means (besides the obvious). If you pass the test, that means you understand the legal definition of signs. If this is some sort of law rather than a company sign, I bet it would be a similar story if he took it to court.
