Luckily, moose are vegetarians.

Unfortunately, like Hindus and Hitler (both vegetarians) they're willing to kill you.

Waiting for Hindus to post their objections despite their bloody history.

That's hilarious! LOL
and you're not wrong.

@scurry I'm dangerous when I'm making sense.

@WonderWartHog99 Moose are not human hunters. They are human avoiders and from my experience human tolerant to a certain extent. Since they are not mechanically inclined, they don't understand vehicles and since vehicles don't smell like humans, they are not initially afraid.

@SiouxcitySue . . . and from my experience human tolerant to a certain extent.

From park rangers experience: don't go anywhere near them.

Any 2,000 pound thing bearing straight towards you at a high rate of speed SHOULD be feared, be it an elephant, a moose or a Honda Civic.

@WonderWartHog99 I hiked into a govt cabin at a lake in Alaska. Every evening the moose waded into the lake to eat. I could sit on the front step and drink coffee while I watched them. I never said hello to them, they saw me and just kept on eating. My position is that anytime an animal in their own environment is disturbed, by some "thing" they do not recognize, I believe their first instinct is survival followed swiftly by fear (maybe vice versa) and they will react appropriately.

@SiouxcitySue They also operate on personal space and territory. If you enter either, they figure it's time to attack. Exactly where that is varies by animal as well when it's mating season or the rearing of offspring. Hikers often find that space by sheer accident or stupidity much to their regret.

Nature is a mother.
