So tomorrow is the day! I’m pulling my son out of school because they are allowing teachers to carry guns at school. I was waiting for him to get his driver’s permit before I pulled him out. He had 2 more years of school but instead he’ll get his GED once he turns 17 this fall and start community college in the spring.

And safer learning. I think, (I know) in our community, teachers carrying guns would not be tolerated for one second.
If this school shooting crap speads to Idaho. I am pulling my sons out of this country.

He was in all advanced placement classes and correcting his AP history teacher daily. I think he could probably pass the GED with no studying. He’s a geek (like me) and doesn’t have that many friends. He also looks much older than he is, which is the opposite of me.
I, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on your point of view, instilled a distaste for the anticlimacticness of graduation ceremonies. I had many bad experiences with graduation ceremonies and didn’t attend my college graduation. Also most of my family have bachelors degrees, so high school graduation is no big deal.

I asked a teacher and he said it was mostly the elementary teachers that were for it but we won’t know who is carrying. We’re in a small town with only one high school and we’d have to live in a different town to have a choice.

Can you send him to another school without guns? Can he be home schooled? How does he feel about missing his school friends and not graduating with his classmates?
