The usual stupid crap from Faux not news. We have a volunteer army. One doesn't have to join. Some countries have conscription and yet limit gun ownership. Look at our insane violence rate you stupid, stupid Faux.

What will "stupid" watch without faux news? the roxanne barr reruns? We don't need guns... period. Regardless of age... bottom line... No Fucking Guns!!!!

so are you saying that its the weapon that creates the violence?

@GipsyOfNewSpain your comments are insulting,,, you sound like a guy who shouldn't be near any weapons for sure. If you don't like weapons then don't own any, I am not part of your "we".

@RomanRo You are the kind of "We" that is ignored by "Us". Noted. Ignored.

@RomanRo It is the weapons that have created the mass killings and injuries. It is the weapons that allow people to take out their anger or insanity on a mass scale.

@JackPedigoI can certainly agree with you that weapons do allow angry and mentally weak people to carry out their hatred but I cannot agree that they are the cause, no more than alcohol creates drunk drivers. Angry people with violent intentions can be found worldwide.

@RomanRo The cause is people being injured or killed because angry or stupid people have the weapons to do so. The weapons become the enabler.

The reason why they raised the legal drinking age to 21 was to try to get alcohol out of the high schools. I personally think that guns should be the same way.

There is a "candidate" to the supremo court that will disagree with you but he sure liked beer a lot he said. To the point he can't recall or remember everything he did back in high school under the influence... all he remember is that he was a "Virgin". Yep I remember liquid lunches at my H.S. days. I remember. Not good Learning Environment for sure, but it was a lot of fun. And Guns should be the same way. Actually... Forbidden.

Pistols, and pistol ammo, you need to be 21 to buy here. Includes 22 LR that are used in pistols as well as rifles.

You can enlist in the army when you are 18.

I first learned how to fire a firearm when I was 3. Yes three. I know how to respect them. The bigger issue is how do we prevent people with mental instability from getting their hands on one?

I am not reading the article, but in my opinion the ages for both are arbitrary. I know very mature 18year olds and immature 30 year olds. In short yes, 18, with proper training is old enough.

Wasn't the whole idea in the first place to have a militia always ready and armed to fight tyranny? And now America has a huge army that is itself a tyranny.

What about being old enough to serve as a soldier and not old enough to drink?

I can't read the article. I'm in no mood for Fox News right now!

Nobody is on the mood for fox news except trumpers. But you should always know what your enemy is up to. Speaking of "tyranny"... when the Gringos are leaving Puerto Rico?

The tyranny at the time was without. What politician in their right mind would want to arm a citizenry to overthrow itself, within? We also seem to forget the country was a rural country and people needed rifles to hunt and eat and defend themselves against the natives upon whose land they were encroaching.
