When will the Wake Up Call come ?

Very sad.

1. after knowing this has been a serious problem,
2. after knowing that elementary school kids have been massacred in day light,
3. after knowing the NRA tells our elected politicians what to do,
4. after knowing that 86% of the voters think there should be gun control,
5. after knowing that it is the right thing to do.....

Very very sad....

1. we have not been able to pass any gun legislation,
2. we have not been able to create a viable alternative to the NRA
3. we have not been able to stop electing the legislators who openly oppose sensible gun legislation such as banning high ammunition, high capacity weapons in the civil use
4. we have ot been able to do what 3rd world countries in the world have been able to do - ban assault weapons

I grew up in a third world country and lived there for 29 years. Not once. I repeat not once we had a fear or a possibility to even see or show a gun to another in the society, let alone someone firing one in any neighborhood. I do not even remember hearing a gun shot for 29 years of my life there. To date, I have not seen what a real pistol looks like, let along a gun or an assault weapon. I have not seen it, have not touched it, have not used it.

It is a huge shame that we cannot protect our little children in the nation that we call the greatest nation on the face of Earth in every speech, every slogan, every 4th of July and at every chance we get.

We have money, we have machines, we have fighter planes, we have advanced electronics, we have amenities, we have abundance, we have organization against animal cruelty, we have pet food industry that is larger than diamond and jewelry industry but where is the simple humanity, simple compassion for little human tender lives?
