Can't really call the NRA a terrorist group. They don't actually do anything. They bullshit us and bully lawmakers, which doesn't really count as terror. I think we need to think along the lines of them being a cult.
Actually, the NRA does something that very much encourages gun violence. They pay big bucks, mostly to Republicans in Congress, to ensure that gun control measures are never adopted, but also to ensure that even MORE guns, and more powerful guns are allowed to be sold. They pushed (and paid for) legislation that allows the mentally ill to buy weapons, even the BLIND! And on and on. The NRA has become a domestic terrorist organization. In 1994 a ban on assault weapons was put in place and gun deaths, or mass assaults, dropped significantly. The NRA pushed (bought) legislation to remove that ban, and they won eventually, and the number of gun deaths rose by something like 200%! In our society YOUR children and MY children are meaningless compared, not just to guns, but more importantly to MONEY!$$ The NRA is making a KILLING, so to speak.

I would classify any one or group that supports terrorism in word or deed a terrorist group.
The NRA used to be about gun safety, regulations, and making sure people had a healthy respect for firearms and how dangerous they can be in the wrong hands.. But now it seems they're all about profit and kickbacks. They don't seem to care who gets hurt in the crossfire as long as they get money. Makes me sad.
They are guilty by enabling of terrorists such as the white boy who shot up a bunch of people at a prayer meeting. The leadership of the NRA has become largely made up of manufacturers of - guess what - guns and ammunition! That's why their agenda has become so extreme. It is "anything to sell more guns", promote lies and fear if it results in people buying more guns, and control politicians at all levels of government to promote laws that favor gun ownership, including open carry laws and opposition to common sense safety rules. The majority of members are much more responsible about proposed gun laws than the NRA leadership, but many of them believe the NRA lies and follow their direction. In this way they are like a cult.
