I think we are losing steam, we are actually making progress on local levels. I don't think we'll get anywhere on a national level anytime soon. Maybe we should concentrate on local levels for awhile. Form groups like this on a local level, work on mayors, governors and gun stores.
You need one thing and one thing only: New voters who will vote for Democrats. Get out the vote. Register the young people. Vote like your life depends on it because it does.
For example, Utah needs only 40,000 new Democratic voters to send a Republican senator into retirement.
Maybe, but didn't you think this was going to be a long drawn out effort in the first place? Especially with the Congress and the White House we have now. I'm hoping mid-terms will shake things up. I did not expect Paul Ryan to be retiring along with all of the other Republicans. I'm optimistic, but it's going to take time, so be patient. The students at the school I work at are planning a walkout at 10 AM on 4/20 along with other students across the nation and will honor the students killed at Parkland, as well as, those at Columbine. Many of those students will be able to vote soon and between the issues of guns, education, the environment, immigration, and the #MeToo movement I'm hoping that there will be a lot less apathy around the ballot box come the next couple elections. There will unfortunately likely be more shootings and definitely more tweets from Trump which will further fuel political change.
I've said the whole time that this is going to take awhile, that's my point nothing is happening on a national level, so lets stop wasting time on that and work on a local level where we are making some progress.
