The idea that oversensitive parenting is responsible for our country’s devastating school shootings is patently ridiculous. If anything, the more warm and responsive American parents become, the more well-adjusted our kids will be. Oversensitive parenting isn't the problem. It's the it's bad parenting or the lack of parenting that does this. Oversensitive parents can also be bad parents, they're not perfect. I've seen the result of oversensitive parenting, it can produce children who stand by when another child is being bullied or alienated.
We need balanced parenting. Fair but firm, freedom but discipline in equal measure. Being sensitive is fine but being oversensitive can have negative effects in the future.

Yeah pretty ludicrous. The ones who don't feel connections, love and safe in the world don't necessarily go on shooting spree but are more vulnerable to do such a thing if they don't have the coping skills to get through it. Some of us cope with a higher level of bullying or being judged or excluded where others those things van make them hopeless. His actions don't happen in a vacuum.
