What is your favorite textbook? The one that you still refer to when you need to review the basics?

For me, it's Alberts Molecular Biology of the Cell
[uberbooks.shop]?

It's really an all encompassing textbook and covers more than its title suggests. In hard cover it's big and bulky but comes with videos and astonishing imagery. It's my go to book whenever the business of science gets me down and makes me forget why I love science in the first place.

It's funny that it took me a while to think of one. Over the years, many of the books I used as reference, I simply outgrew, more information got added. The most recent textbook I've been using as a reference is this lovely brick [amazon.com] (yes, I own the physical copy), and I could probably kill someone in self-defense with it walking from the lab to the dark secluded parking lot. If I need a refresher on certain topics, I stopped turning to books, I search for articles instead, and always limit them to the last 5 years or so. I still have all of my older textbooks, even from my undergrad days, but I tend to turn to them in case I need to tutor someone.
