I went to my auntie's funeral last week in a catholic church. I was brought up catholic so I knew the prayers but it felt really weird even though there was no temptation to join in. We did have a great feed afterwards which is what my auntie would have wanted if she'd organised it. She was 91 years old so of course we are one of the lucky families on this occasion.

I hope i'll be able to do the same as you out of respect etc. Its going to be interesting when I go however and the cousins and whatnot come to my humanist secular funeral, Id love to be a fly on the wall for that one lol, It sucks you can't go to your own funeral that would be bittersweet but awesome.

Thank you for your comments. I wish you and your family well. I think when the time comes you will do 'the right thing' whatever that means for you and yours. It would be really weird if I could 'look down' on my funeral. The very idea is putting a smile on my face!
