I have been having some high blood pressure issues lately, nothing too dangerous, but I discovered something interesting I'd like to share: when usually taking my blood pressure at home it averages 135/88, not bad but high for me. Took it last night while listening to an a-ha cd and one of my cats on my lap...pressure was 121/74. Retook tonight several times, in normal condition was higher, average again 132/85...and again whole listening to a-ha cd & cat...average an amazing 118/72. What is a conclusion from this: a-ha music and cats are good for ones health

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.That's not an exhaustively scientific test, but you're repeating a conclusion that's already been established that cats reduce blood pressure. I should add though that while I am a proven cat lover (saved dozens, currently have 16) and I snuggle and pet them constantly, a number of them snuggle me in bed too, I still need and take blood pressure reducing medicine. They help but it's not a cure.

There are studies on how a cat - particularly a purring one - can bring down human's blood pressure. I don't know if there are any studies on music, but I know it was music that brought me out of a deep depression years ago, so I suspect it has many healing properties.
