Tomorrow, 25th January will be the day Scots wherever they live in the world will celebrate the birth in 1759 of our National bard - Robert Burns. Burns, born in Alloway, Ayrshire was a tenant- farmer’s son and never forgot his roots or the belief that all men are born equal. He will be toasted tomorrow night by Scots exiles and their descendants in all corners of the globe and by foreign admirers of which there are many, at “Burns’ Suppers” of Haggis, Neeps & Tatties, washed down with a few drams of Scotch whisky. His humanity is what is being celebrated, and this verse which was sung at the official inauguration ceremony of the devolved Scottish Parliament in 1999 in the presence of HM Queen Elizabeth II, epitomises that spirit of belief in human equality. A Man’s A Man For A’ That…sung by Sheena Wellington. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lovely song!

You may not have understood all the words…Burns wrote them in the Scottish dialect called “lallans” or Lowland Scots.

Wonderful!!! Loved when the members joined in at the end. I assume you have sung that on some occasion.
