Do you offset a sedentary lifestyle filled with PCs, TVs, and other technological indulgences? Even in small ways, do you try to counteract sitting time?

Committing to 10,000 steps on my Fitbit helps. If I can get to 12,000 it's 5 miles. There's a lot of upkeep to my place, 1/2 mile driveway, plus having dogs, horses and a twelve year old in Scouts, usually keeps me moving. Gained some weight over the winter so grateful for the sunshine that inspires me to get outside!

I am totally all the way around when my sister went to NYC this weekend, that night... my decadent act was watching regular tv for the first time in months, enjoying never seen commercials, I may not do it again until the summer. I gave my new laptop to my daughter last weekend... nah, I am not dying. He, he, he, ha. I did went salsa dancing Friday night. DC march Saturday during the day. Patio work on Sunday.

I work at a bar and I like to workout so I get more then enough time on my feet. I actually have to get up and walk around in the middle of each class because sitting for 80 miniatures is difficult for me.

Sports twice a week - hopefully three times this Winter season. More walking and taking public transport. Less driving.

I'm in front of a PC all day for work. It is one of those adjustible desks so I move it up to stand while working as a small offset. I try to take walking breaks but I usually get focused on a project and don't move for periods of time.

My bigger offsets (hopefully) are hitting the gym 3-4 times per week, riding my road and mountain bikes, hiking and camping with my daughter. I also just started mat Pilates which is one of the more painful experiences I've had.

I offset those offsets with whiskey, good IPA's, bags of chips and binge watching shows on Hulu and Prime. 😐

I have a lot of physical work with my animals or general farm maintainance. When I am on line it is rest time

I play computer games every day but I also try to get in exercise every day. Have a stepper machine in a spare bedroom and use that 3 or 4 times a week. I live a few blocks from work so I walk there and back twice a day. This week is spring cleaning week and lots to do. Just bought a bike and will be cruising around town soon. Always something to keep me active and not just sit in front of PC.

I have a desk job, cubicle dweller. Also, due to age, my metabolism ain't what it used to be so I have to keep that engine running. I have a workout routine I have done off and on for many years and it has served me well. My routine includes some floor exercises, 30 minutes of cardio on an elliptical trainer, and some resistance training (weights, cable machine). If I can get in 4X/Wk, I'm good. =]

Up to six years ago I was mountain climbing, hiking, going on pub crawls around Boston and many outside physical pursuits. I've been forced to slow down but as the snow melts I'll be getting out more and more. May be joinng local gym again to work out.

I take the dogs out frequently during the day. I walk around the yard with them (big yard).
There's also working around the yard, which requires physical exertion.
Then, later in the afternoon, I chase small humans.

I bicycle to and from work, I chase children all day at work, including on an obstacle course. And when I don't have clients and I'm not neck deep in Quarterly Progress Reports, I head over to the elliptical and hand cycle in the Physical Therapy department.

At the moment, I'm working on those much-hated reports.

Well, it is winter. Truthfully I don't. Once it warms up and I can get outside I will be more active, I have a yard and a garden that will need attention.

I spend a lot of time sitting at my computer editing photos and running a website; fortunately when I'm taking photos I'll be running around a race circuit to try to get to good points along the way before the riders do - I'd never really thought about how much exercise that is because I'm concentrating on the race, the light and angles, but another photographer I've been working with for the last year bought a Fitbit as part of his weight-loss plan and discovered we were regularly clocking up 15 miles on foot. In addition to that, I walk five miles five days a week.

I'm always using my phone, computer, iPod, or TV.

In the evenings, after sitting all day, I tend to take a walk or a bike ride in the hour or two before sunset, as that gives me a deadline to get the exercise in before dark. I know I'll be back on my computer or watching TV once it's dark. During rainy season, I don't get much exercise in, have to admit. I sit most of the day, but when the weather warms up, I might take a break to swim some laps in the pool. Good nudge to get back into a spring time exercise habit!
