This... but really what I’m hoping for a massive CME that causes massive power outages in major cities for at least a few days/nights. Won’t matter though, most people will still spend them looking down at their smart phones instead of up at the sky.

Massive power outages , cause massive population explosions nine months later . You may be staring at the night sky , but others are refreshing their intimate relationships .

Why can't it be both - refresh and rekindle away under the starry, starry night!

New York City had a massive power outage , years ago , and the accompanying population explosion . It's a rather hefty price to pay , for a night of uninterrupted stargazing .

@Cast1es Agreed - I was joking.

We had an CME power outage in Québec once. Luckily it wasn't in the middle of winter. Not always fun. I would support a lights out, once a year, movement for sure.

Posted by starwatcher-alI missed the early phases of the eclipse but the clouds mostly left during totality. All in all a great eclipse. Next one is Nov. 8-22
