Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I hope the French won’t be hypocritical since Notre-Dame was in huge disrepair after the French Revolution. The rabble cut all the heads off of the statues and the state took possession. It wasn’t until the Victor Hugo book that interest was renewed and the church was renovated. The spire that burned was added in mid 1800s so not an 800 year old feature. The building was built on the site of a temple to Jupiter.

My fear is that this will be, or will be used as a burning of the Reichstag moment, to inflame passions against the Muslims or the yellow Vests.
Either way will lead to extreme unrest in France and almost certainly a terrible loss of life.
