I see the regressive right wants to march Australia back to the social injustices of the 1960s: [conservativeparty.org.au] , and that web site is at odds with the mass email that they sent out containing the words "five key segments of mainstream Australian life:
Small and family businesses
Parents of young and school-age children
Seniors
Volunteers in community groups
Participants in faith groups"
Just who do they think they are kidding?
In Answer to Peter Duttons Photos, I disagree with the description of the LNP, My belief they are called the Larcenous Nazi Party.
No mention of his anal janitor Barnical Jaws lately nor is "Nothing To Be Proud Of" is any less of a Hillsong nazi
We live in interesting times, at the end of one 25,000 year cycle and into the next. the question is will we survive as a civilisation with so many sectors each tearing into the whole?
America has a bill of rights, we don't so we feel the impact of the change more than the rest of the world where human rights are mandated.
Perhaps we will officially join China, North Korea, Iran, etc as a totalitarian fascist state? We are already 80% along the path to membership to this dystopian group of nations
The question for me is, if the US goes authoritarian after 2024, which is likely, what does Australia do, with our up the US's ass foreign policy and 'shoulder to shoulder with America' parroting? As America aligns with the world's dictators, do we just follow along like the sheep weve been since WW2? Will Australians stand up against this? We did against Vietnam, eventually. I wonder about this.
@David1955 I concur totally. America will only support us where therer is profit in it for them.
I believe that there is no profit seeking sunshine high up the American Arse. We have lost the respect of the Pacific Islanders and our region of Asia
When the Sheriff dies of cancer, what happens to the deputy sheriff?
Well, so called conservatism these days is a mix of anti modernism, regressive, narrow, moralistic social 'values', usually based on religion, a profound disapproval of social diversity, all drowning in a kind of nostalgia for a mythologised past that only exists in their fantasies. It's a global phenomenon, probably due to the rapid pace of change that characterises the age we live in. I'm not a sociologist, but that's my view of it. In any case it's becoming more and more toxic, and we're just stuck with it. Australia isn't immune. Frankly, my view these days is that the only difference between America and Australia is about 3 years. Progressivism might seem to be on a high in Australia at the moment, but I think its an illusion.
Agreed. I would cite the outrageous behaviour of Citipointe Christian College as one example of your thinking.
@anglophone You forgetting Hillsong and their political persona, scomo/ Dutton and co?
@Kurtn I could not be bothered to detail the almost endless list of psychological and emotional defectives that infest this country.
Your post makes no sense without specific examples.
