I got all excited and then realized this group has nothing to do with Australian shepherds. šŸ˜Ÿ

Q: Do you know why so many New Zealanders go to Western Australia?

A: Because they think the Canning Stock route is an annual event.

It's a trans Tasman joke...

To add insult to injury, Australian Shepherds are an American breed, and most Australians have never heard of them ?

(Iā€™d never heard of them, though I have one as a member of the family now)

Maybe you can explain what they are. I never heard of them.

@jules4169 theyā€™re a breed of dog. They look like a border collie. The original breed naturally had no tail, so when a pup is born with a tail they dock it ??
Lots of energy, though not as much as a border collie, so theyā€™re more appropriate to have in the house. Not quite as smart as a collie either.... but no other dogs are ?

Had your eyesight checked recently or in need of a dictionary?

if australian shepherds do already excite you, what could australian sceptics possibly do for you?

You can always tell a retired Aus shepherd's house. Its the one with the post in the yard with an old hat nailed to the top and a tree trunk log standing a few feet away.

@FrayedBear, & that makes sense because?

@walklightly Traditionally shepherds and boundary riders led lonely isolated lives so frequently put a hat on a post, sat on a stump and talked to the hat for company.

@FrayedBear, oh, wow! i'd never have guessed that explanation. maybe because i'd rather talk to the birds & the trees than to an old hat or a dead post.

@walklightly yup. I guess that explains why you are so acclimated. Don't you find though that the birds tend to fly off when you talk to them?
Shepherds don't talk to sheep because, like a lot of women, they just turn their back on them. ... And you know how the sight of the rear end of a sheep can inflame some shepherds.
Hehehe.?

@FrayedBear, birds love me. ... & then he started talking dirty to me šŸ‘

@walklightly Especially crows...lol
