Curious if any of you read several books simultaneously? I keep a stack handy and pick up whichever book suits my mood at the moment 🙂

That's my default position.

I also must admit that I've been reading books I enjoyed in my childhood - everything from Tom Swift to Dr Doolittle.
Tom Swift was a boy's "science"/adventure series. Hack writing with stereotypical characters. But escape is nice sometimes.

When you hear "Dr Doolittle", please don't think about any of the movies (horrors! Nothing like the books, as is typical of hollywood). I've managed to find most of the books from pre mid-fifties editions. Forget the modern politically correct versions. I've found the books on e-bay (one came from Ireland).

Yes, usually at least 2 at any given time. Usually one audiobook and one physical book (I generally avoid ebooks). And usually one heavy/dense book one light/fun book.

It can happen that I read one psychology book and a novel in the same time, but not more. Like having dessert after a meal ! Since English is a second language I need more concentration. I read faster in French.

Lately I’ve been reading one and listening to one. I read during the day then listen and maybe fall asleep to one before bed.

I take a diverse selection out~so
some are dry boring science which are not
"page turners". I sometimes put these aside
and read a novel to break up the pace of
reading.

Yes. I seldom read one book at a time. It's a bit like television. Unless I'm in the mood to binge watch, I flip from show to show.

Right now I have two books in my satchel and my tablet has several dozen. Depending on my mood I switch around.

All the time, I usually have at least one non fiction, one horror and one comic novel going at any one time before I even start on my internet reading.

Posted by ReignmondA highly biased selection.

Posted by ReignmondI read this back in 2018. Absolutely loved it. It is an oddly small sized book, so it is good to travel with. [amazon.com]
