Being a long time wildlife rehabilitator, I thought some of you might appreciate my latest release - a litter of seven opossums. As often happens - their Mom was hit by a car. Once they were big enough (at about 3 months) - it was time to hike into a remote swamp area, for a perfect release ! Group snooze the day before freedom, and the last to leave ... it's always a bittersweet moment ....

And thank you for appreciating that. But believe me, though it can be trying, tiring, pricey, and messy (as they grow , they sure can poop !) , the rewards are great . I feel fortunate to "borrow" them from nature for a short while !
