This is going to sound like a cliche, but just work with me on this.
There is blood on my keyboard.
No, it wasn't a domestic that went sideways.
Instead, it was that I managed to slice the top of my left index finger whilst inexpertly dicing bacon a couple of days ago.
I have put on new tape but it continues to seep.
Which gave me pause for thought as I am pounding out my 500 words for the day - I really am bleeding for my art.

Or riggers gloves and use a chainsaw. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
@Palindromeman ah an ounce of prevention is worth a box of surgical gloves. I suggested their use to prevent the spillage of blood and recommend their use to anyone needing to get to A&E for stitches. Carefully worn over cuts it can stop bleeding and saves mess acting as a safe collection bucket or bag.
@Palindromeman I have a cut proof glove for butchers / fishmongers that only cost a few dollars from Aldis. Trouble is I forget to routinely wear it. Had to laugh at the local Woolworth's - staff were instructed to only wear the glove when cleaning the slicing machine in the deli not during slicing.!
@Palindromeman Talking of chainsaws I once encountered a young surgeon who managed, according to him, to cut both his hands off. He decided on a career change to become a barrister specialising in medical issues.
@FrayedBear I have only one word - groovy.
@Palindromeman I doubt that a chain saw would so casually cut through a both barrels of a shotgun.
@FrayedBear You make a point - it detracts from the gritty realism which is Evil Dead movies.
A project is not done until you bleed on it. As a woodworker I have been tracking this for almost forty years and so far I'm goog.
