Is that how academics describe themselves ? Or were you recruited out of academia into business/politics to invent current history re-writing roots of your employer ?

There is no one way academics describe themselves.
I remain an academic. History and its study are exceptionally important and I do not enter it with a priori requirements, rather I analyze what I see.
@skeptic70 I am on your same page ...do you teach or are you employed solely for research reading Anarchists on the side ?
